PROFESSIONAL TRUMPET PERFORMING AND TEACHING IN SEATTLE

Tim has loved music from a young age, his earliest memories being the sound of his dad playing jazz on the saxophone and organ--at the same time. He has a Master of Music degree in performance from the University of New Mexico, where he studied with John Marchiando, and a Bachelor of Music in performance from the University of Central Arkansas. Tim's past teachers include Larry Jones, Roy Poper, Arto Hoornweg, and Tim Morrison.

Prior to moving to Seattle, Tim has been performing with Mariachi Amigos de Nuevo Mexico, a very busy and popular mariachi throughout New Mexico, southern Colorado, and western Texas as well as freelancing other styles of music. He has been the featured soloist at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for their Wednesday Concert Series. Tim has been principal trumpet of the Conway Symphony Orchestra, performed with the New Mexico Symphonic Chorus, the Arkansas Symphony Jazz Band, and the Pinnacle Brass quintet. In Los Angeles he was a freelance performer and teacher, where he also recorded an opera.

Tim teaches private lessons to beginners through advanced students of any age and is available for concert band and marching band workshops and camps. Tim is available to play weddings, worship services, or sit in with your jazz or concert band. When he is not playing trumpet, Tim enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with his wife and retired racing greyhound.

Tim is also part owner of Desca Music, which makes high quality portable music stands and folders, based in Albuquerque and 100% made in the USA: descamusic.com.
